Repeat prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions may be given, by agreement with your doctor, for some long term treatments. This allows you to get repeats of your medication by sending in a request with a stamped addressed envelope or leaving it in the repeat prescription box near the reception. Telephone requests can only be taken after midday.

Requests can also be emailed to repeats.p81778@nhs.net and all emailed requests will receive an acknowledgement. Faxed requests are also accepted on 01282 867391.

The patient access system allows you to make/cancel appointments and order repeat prescriptions 24 hours a day. Please see the receptionists for a password. 24 hours notice is required to allow repeat prescriptions to be prepared.

You can nominate a local chemist to collect your prescription on your behalf. All chemists in Colne call into the Practice on a daily basis to collect prescriptions – all you have to do is call into the nominated chemist and your prescription will be waiting for you.

It is necessary for all patients who require repeat prescriptions to have a regular review with either the Doctor, Pharmacist or Practice Nurse.
The interval between the reviews maybe six or twelve months, depending on the requested medication.
